WATCH: Newt Gingrich And Snooki Discuss Strippers With Jay Leno

Newt Gingrich may not be the Republican presidential nominee, but he got a new job offer Wednesday night — a guest role on MTV's Snooki and JWoww. Gingrich's response? "That'd be great!"

Appearing on The Tonight Show Wednesday, Gingrich and the Jersey Shore star seemed to get along swimmingly while Leno quizzed the pair on their drinking habits and bachelor parties.

Leno asked Snooki, famous for her drunken episodes, whether the now-pregnant reality star had stopped drinking. "Of course," she said. "Duhhh."

Leno turned to Gingrich, and said, "Do you drink?" Gingrich said, "Sometimes."

Snooki emphatically said, "Good for you!"

Snooki said she encouraged her new husband to have strippers at the bachelor party. Gingrich admitted he didn't have strippers at his last bachelor party, although he didn't mention anything about the first two.

Gingrich reflected, "I feel like in some ways, my life has been deprived after listening [to Snooki]."

The Jersey Shore cast partnered with Funny or Die to promote voting Wednesday in an awkwardly scripted video that has members arguing about Durverger's Law and American hegemonies.

It's Snooki who started it all. "What the F is wrong with you people? I have a baby inside of me," Snooki said, with a copy of Mother Jones open on her lap. "I am seriously worried about this country's future."

A slew of curse words and political theory disputes later, the cast encourages young voters to "flex their political power" in the 2012 election.

2 New Jersey Cities Reject 'Jersey Shore' Spinoff

Snooki JWoww Jersey Shore

The MTV audience may love Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jennifer "JWoww" Farley, but New Jersey? Not so much.

The Point Pleasant Beach Council unanimously voted against a request from 495 Productions to tape "Jersey Shore" spinoff "Snooki & JWoww" in their town.

"It's not what the town needs at this point," said Councilman William Mayer to the Asbury Park Press.

Toms River also turned down the series.

The rejection comes just a week after the production decided not to film in Morristown, after initially planning to shoot there from August 9 to mid-October.

Between filming, pregnant Polizzi lives with her fiancé Jionni LaValle in East Hanover, which, like Morristown, is in Morris County, NJ.

No word yet if the company will reconsider the area—popular for its bar scene and American Revolution history—now that they are behind schedule on season two without a location.

The first season of "Snooki & JWoww" premiered in June and filmed in Jersey City after being denied by Hoboken

Casting Agent Reveals The 'Snooki Formula' That Gets People On TV

sarah monsonSarah Monson knows how to get you on TV.

The former casting director has found talent for shows including "The Bachelor" and "Survivor." And now she has a new book about achieving reality stardom, called "Me On TV: The First Ever Kick-Ass Guide To Get You On Any Reality Show."

Monson says that casting directors these days look for the "Snooki formula."

But it doesn't just involve one-part bump-it and two-parts spray tan.

"Start with a polarizing stereotype, saturate with unapologetic flaws, and then add in a dash of humanity for good measure," Monson told us in a phone interview.

snooki jersey shore silicon valley"Snooki is this partygirl with tons and tons of make-up and she's loud and obnoxious," explained Monson. "But then she cries and calls her mom or gets pregnant or something and then you find yourself kind of liking her."

This draws people in because they can't decide whether they like the character or not, Monson said. The confusion keeps viewers entertained and increases the show and character's longevity.

It's important to pick a stereotype and stick to it, adds the author.

"You might think you're interesting, but in a worldwide pool it's hard to stick out," Monson explains. "So we're looking for characters."

7 Celebrities Who Inspired New Laws

snooki

It turns out the Jersey Shore's pint-size guidette is good for something.

A proposed New Jersey law — inspired by Snooki and her tanned brood from MTV — aims to protect towns from the perils of playing host to a reality TV show.

Snooki isn't the first celebrity to inspire changes in local judicial systems. Here, a look at seven stars who have had an impact on the inner workings of government.

Snooki

Nicknamed the "Snookiville Law," a New Jersey enactment, to be introduced Sept. 24, gives local officials more power over the filming of reality shows in their area. While having a television show shot in any town can initially be a boon for business, an ongoing series can often become more hassle than its worth. The proposed law would, for example, require production crews to pay for additional police needed for crowd control.

Tim Tebow

Not only did the knee-taking New York Jets quarterback popularize his own celebratory stance, but Tim Tebow also inspired South Carolina legislators to pass the Equal Access to Interscholastic Activities act in May 2012.

Nicknamed the "Tim Tebow law," after the home-schooled football star, the legislation allows home-schoolers to participate in public school extracurricular activities they wouldn't otherwise have access to.

Donda West

In 2007, after having what was supposed to be routine cosmetic surgery, Kanye West's mom, Donda, was recuperating at home when she fell ill and died shortly after arriving at a hospital.

West's family worked for two years to push a bill, which was ultimately signed into law in 2009, that requires plastic surgery patients in California to undergo a complete physical before any procedure.

Longtime Rivals Snooki And Chris Christie Have Awkward First Encounter

Snooki Chris ChristieNew Jersey Governor Chris Christie and "Jersey Shore" cast member Snooki go way back — and not in a good way.

In September, Christie blocked “Jersey Shore” producers from receiving a massive tax credit because the show, he said, “does nothing more than perpetuate misconceptions about the state and its citizens."

Snooki retaliated by taking to Twitter, writing “I will not be voting for Chris Christie. Love always, the ‘buffoons’ from that degrading Jersey Shore show.”

The reality star added of Christie's potential to one day run for president, “I DEF don’t want a judgmental president who has NEVER met me in person. F that.”

So, when the longtime rivals finally met Friday at an event celebrating the Seaside Heights boardwalk reopening, things were a little bit icy.

In the below video footage, an uncomfortable Snooki asks Christie why he is standing so close to her, at which point he leans even closer to the petite MTV star.

She then tells Christie, “I just wanted to meet you, and just, hope you start to like us.”

After the awkward convo, you can hear Snooki tell her co-star JWoww, “He just doesn’t like us.” Watch below:

But after she had a baby in August, Snooki hit the gym and started documenting her workout routines for followers:

She worked hard and posted her progress. "I go [to a trainer] four times a week, and we do legs, arms and everything," Snooki told People magazine. "And after every one-hour workout, I do an hour of cardio."

The 23 Highest-Paid Reality TV Stars

cee lo green catIt sure pays to be a reality TV star!

Judging, feuding, fighting and showmancing can result in lots of cold hard cash.

From celebrity judges on "American Idol" and "The Voice," to reality stars from "The Real Housewives" franchise.

Stars with the biggest paychecks >

Snooki: From $1.95 million to $200,000

Snooki was once one of the highest paid reality stars at $1.95 million a season for Jersey Shore, until it all ended in December.

More recently, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi worked hard for far less on Dancing with the Stars, on which the celebrity contestants make a reported $200,000 per season (plus bonuses depending on how long they stay on the show).

Lisa Vanderpump: $250,000

Vanderpump rules when it comes to salary on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The restaurateur got a Bravo spinoff show about her eateries—and also appeared on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars last season, reportedly making $200,000 for learning to rumba.

And what about her controversial co-star, Brandi Glanville? Eddie Cibrian’s ex reportedly only brought home $125,000 for last season.

Cynthia Bailey and Phaedra Parks: $300,000

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is still at the top of the housewife heap, and even supporting players Bailey and Parks reap the benefits.

When asked what it takes to be a great housewife, fashion school owner Bailey laughed, “Patience, prayer, and a great bottle of wine.” Attorney Parks, known for her bootylicious workout tape, will be coming back to feud with co-star Kenya Moore in the show this fall.

Gone are the days spent at the Jersey Shore.

MTV star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has gone the route of Martha, Blake, and Gwyneth; getting in touch with her inner artist and "launching Nicole’s Craft Room, an Etsy store where she shills handmade mugs, candles, wine glasses and more,"The New York Post reports.

And she's actually selling her crafts — the entire store is sold out.

So far The Post says she's logged 156 sales of her kitschy mugs and vases since the store opened on December 3rd.

Most of the items have phrases written on them in Polizzi's handwriting ("Jesus Take The Wheel" is a favorite.)

'Celebrity Apprentice' contender Snooki: 'Arnold's boardroom is way more terrifying than Trump's'

$

nicole snooki polizzi

"Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi wasn't sure what she would be in for if she signed on to the new season of NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice," which premieres Monday at 8 p.m.

"I’m not really into competition," Polizzi, who's now a married mother of two children, told Business Insider recently. "I like to just go, have fun, meet friends, then go home, so ["Celebrity Apprentice"] was sort of out of my comfort zone."

Polizzi is no stranger to reality shows.

Along with being controversial for the hard-partying lifestyle of its young adult cast and perceived Italian-American stereotypes, "Jersey Shore" was MTV's highest-rated series ever. At its peak in 2011, nearly nine million people tuned into its third season. Polizzi was its standout star and went on to have her own MTV spinoff, "Snooki & JWOWW," competed on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," and appeared on other cable reality shows. But "Apprentice" is a different animal for Polizzi.

"I had never even watched the show before. I had heard of it, but I never figured I’d be on it," Polizzi, 29, said. "So when they did ask me to be on the show, I kind of had to watch the season before because I didn’t know what to expect."

Polizzi wasn't alone. Donald Trump, who hosted the business competition reality show for seven seasons since it debuted in 2004, threw a wrench in the works when he announced his presidential run in June 2015.

arnold trump celebrity apprentice gettySlammed with protests over remarks Trump made about Mexican immigrants during his speech, NBC pulled out of airing the Miss Universe pageant, which was partially owned by the real estate mogul at the time. The network also said it was cutting business ties with Trump, which reportedly included removing him as host of  "Apprentice" (though Trump says he quit). Since then, it has come to light that the president-elect continues to have a producing role on the show.

Nevertheless, NBC announced movie star and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger would take the "Apprentice" reins as its new host in September 2015 – a major factor in Polizzi's decision to join the cast.

"It was for a great cause. I can’t say no to that," Polizzi, who chose to play for the North Shore Animal League because of its dedication to no-kill pet adoption shelters, told us. "And also I’m a huge fan of Arnold. So it was kind of a no-brainer, you know, just try it out and see how it goes."

NBC has held details of Schwarzenegger's "Apprentice" close to the vest, especially his version of Trump's famous "You're fired" dismissal tagline. Polizzi, though, gave us a sense of how the movie star compares to the president-elect.

"I feel that Arnold has his own way of managing us," the reality star said. "Arnold’s boardroom is way more terrifying than Trump’s, because he’s ‘The Terminator,’ so it just made it that much scarier. He definitely brought his own vibe to it."

Nicole Snooki Polizzi Laila Ali celebrity apprentice nbc.JPG"He’s definitely a hardworking, tough boss," she continued of Schwarzenegger, "but he criticizes you in a good way in order to help you and give you advice on how to do it better. Even though he’s scary and it’s intimidating to be in front of him in the boardroom, he’ll always kind of lift you up with his criticism. So he wasn’t like a bad, mean boss, but his mannerisms and him being him made it scary."

Polizzi's goal going into the show was to "learn more about myself and business." Though she can't reveal how well she did on the competition, she did say that she learned a lot from the "crazy," sometimes grueling 12-hour tasks on the competition.

"I have to be more assertive when it comes to making decisions," she said of what she learned during "Apprentice.""Even in my own business ventures, sometimes I’m not as bossy as I should be because I care about people’s feelings and I don’t want to hurt their feelings. So I just realized that it’s business and it’s not personal."

Over the weekend, I happened to be in scenic Jersey City, NJ with some friends.

Of course, as many of you may know, Jersey Shore stars Nicole Polizzi and Jenni Farley (aka Snooki and JWoww) are filming a new show in downtown Jersey City. JWoww is even joining a nearby gym.

When we were driving around town, we happened to go past the house where Snooki and JWoww are living. My friend Charles was able to snag this picture of Snooki's unique Cadillac Escalade EXT.

Not my cup of tea, but if she likes it good for her.

If you're wondering, JWoww drives a black BMW X5 with smoked lens covers on the lights. It looked surprisingly tasteful and understated.

Have you spotted a rare or unusual car/plane/train/boat/industry person in your travels? Did you take a photo? Do you like sharing?

If you answered yes to these questions, please send the picture to tokulski@businessinsider.com with the subject line "Spotted." Be sure to include where you saw it to be considered for our Photo of the Day.

7 Celebrity Moms Using Their Kids To Revive Their Careers

$

Jessica SImpson

All eyes have been on Jessica Simpson before and after giving birth to daughter Maxwell Drew, and the attention shows no signs of stopping. However, it wasn't always this way.

Before becoming pregnant, Simpson fell out of the spotlight for a while.

Her last real fame was during a few television specials with old flame, Nick Lachey. She was supposed to put out a new CD in 2010, but instead put out a greatest hits record. Her last CD released was a holiday album, Happy Christmas, released in November, 2010.

With backlash for a showing off a more curvy figure, Simpson faced the fate of many other celeb females—Tori Spelling, Nicole Richie—becoming forgotten. However, they all found an answer to help boost them back into the limelight: pregnancy.

As pointed out in The New York Times, plenty of celebrity moms are cashing in on their bundles of joy with reality shows, Twitter endorsements and clothing lines.

The effect is being referred to as a viable "Plan B."

“Being a celebrity mom has more business opportunities than ever before,” said Peter Grossman, the photo editor of Us Weekly, where he has negotiated six-figure cover deals with many celebrities and their cuddly offspring. “Now, it’s not just about selling your baby pics. It’s starting a clothing line or endorsing a stroller. The value of a celebrity mom has never been higher.”

There's a lot of discussion on how Simpson will on newborn Maxie—adding a maternity-wear line, baby blankets, go the Tori Spelling route with a reality TV series.

Currently, Simpson stars alongside another celebrity mom, Nicole Richie, on NBC's competition show "Fashion Star." While we wait to see what's next from Simpson, there are plenty of Hollywood moms—and mothers to be—who have capitalized on their bundles of joy.

Tori Spelling

Donna Martin graduates … from teen-television idol to reality star.

After Fox's hit "90210" went off the air, the daughter of American film and television producer Aaron Spelling didn't quite find her footing, floundering about in a bunch of made-for-television films ("Housesitter"), minor appearances in big films ("Scary Movie 2") and indie flicks ("50 Ways to Leave Your Lover").

That all changed after Spelling landed VH1 sitcom, "So NoTORIous," in 2006 mocking her public image. During the series, Spelling married current husband, Dean McDermott in May of that year.

Less than a year later, the couple welcomed son Liam Aaron in March 2007. That same month, the pair had a new television show on Oxygen, "Tori & Dean: Inn Love," following their purchase of a bed and breakfast in Fallbrook, California.

Now, Spelling and McDermott are the faces of the Oxygen network. Since 2007, the couple have had two more reality shows and, with them, two more children. "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood" took place during Spelling's second pregnancy.

Birth number three to Hattie Margaret in October 2011 coincided with Spelling's latest spinoff, "Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings," which premiered last April.

Last month, Spelling announced she's expecting child number four. And, of course, with another baby means another new show—"Craft Wars" on TLC.

Kendra Wilkinson

The former "Girls Next Door" playboy went from the Playboy Mansion to doting wife and mom. Kendra Wilkinson married Philadelphia Eagles' receiver Hank Baskett in June 2009 and not even a month later she announced the news of their first child, Hank Basket IV.

Prior to her announcement, Wilkinson's spin-off show, "Kendra," premiered on E! to a record-breaking 2.6 million viewers, the channel's highest ratings since "The Anna Nicole Show." Her pregnancy became a central storyline to the show's success.

This summer, the couple will have a new show on the WE Network called, "Kendra on Top." Toddler Hank will be featured on there as well.

Bethenny Frankel

You most likely know Bethenny Frankel from "The Real Housewives of New York City" or for her Skinnygirl cocktail line. However, Frankel started out on "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart," where she was one of the finalists.

From there, Frankel was given a Bravo reality show which covered all the bases—her engagement and marriage to Jason Hoppy and ensuing birth of daughter Bryn. The show became Bravo's most-watched series debut with more than two million viewers.

This summer, Frankel's getting her own talk show on 11 Fox-owned stations. "Bethenny," will start out as a six-week project June 11 with the possibility of becoming nationally syndicated in 2013.
